There can be no doubt that Google’s Mobile Changes will affect you if your website is not mobile responsive.
You should take the quick 1 minute test given in the article below.
Google is all about providing website content to readers, so it follows that the content must be in a form that is easy for people to read on whichever devices they are using . . .
Whether that be a desk top computer, a laptop, a tablet or a mobile phone.
When smart phones first came out with internet capabilities, we were faced with reading content from a desktop sized screen on a hand held sized screen.
We’ve all done it, and as you know, it is a very challenging if not impossible task.
So the web gurus came up with solutions to get around this problem.
One solution was to create a completely separate mobile version of your website, which meant that you ended up maintaining 2 lots of website content – a real nuisance for busy business owners.
So then they came up with adding a plugin to your website to provide a mobile friendly version of your website content. This worked, but was still a bit of a band-aid solution.
Already some 18 months ago we prepared for this shift at Hotpink Websites when our developers ensured that new websites were fully mobile responsive.
And now this should be the standard for all web developers.
So Google is now taking the step that will see less and less of these non-mobile-friendly sites being presented in search results.
You can read the full Google Announcement here.
Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.
This change will affect mobile searches in all languages worldwide and will have a significant impact in our search results.
Consequently, users will find it easier to get relevant, high quality search results that are optimized for their devices.
Effective from 21st April
Google is not in the habit of pre-announcing it’s changes. It likes to drop them on website owners and SEO providers . . . probably in a bid to keep them honest.
So, this pre-announcement is giving you fair warning that it is time to get your website up to date.
Take the Test – here – now
Just type in your website address and get the answer back using Google’s own Mobile-Friendly Test.
Note: this usually takes a couple of minutes for Google to review your website.
Your browser does not support iframes.

Hopefully, you will get the result that we did for our own website – that says your website is mobile friendly.
