Website software is just like any other software.
It needs to be updated regularly to prevent security issues, plugin conflicts, etc that could bring your website down.
So if you. (or your website support team), are not running regular updates on your WordPress software and plugins, then your website could be at risk . . . . And on that subject, there has just been another update to WordPress.
You must update your WordPress software now
So . . .
What Changed in 4.5.2?
WordPress have advised that it is vital that you upgrade to the latest version as quick as possible, because an XSS vulnerability was found in WordPress 4.5.1 which could enable someone to hack your site.
You don’t necessarily need to understand the how, why and wherefore of that statement . . . other than it needs to be done.
For more technical details, files changed, etc. you can refer to the WordPress notice in the Version 4.5.2 release notes.
