Why Add Your Facebook Profile Image?
It’s amazing how many people still do not add their Facebook profile image.
You know, it’s called FACE-book for a reason!
So, why should you bother to add or update your Facebook Profile Image?
The pre-Internet versions of Facebook were actually paper books issued to college and university students with pictures and names introducing the new students to other students.
You can read some of the history here.
However, in the modern world of Facebook, the application is much broader and it is very easy to find people on Facebook and request a friendship link.
While Facebook can be a great tool for connecting with existing friends and finding new friends, it is also subject to abuse.
So what is the simplest way of checking out the validity or desirability of a friend request?
You can look over their profile information, but the takes time.
The most obvious method is to look at their profile image.
If there is no profile image it might just be because they are lazy or shy. But you could also ask the question, “what are they hiding?”
A more detailed check can be made by looking at the profile information, but the profile image is still the usual connection that you make with a possible new friend on Facebook.
So, Why Add Your Facebook Profile Image?
I know many people who simply do not accept friend requests if there is no profile image, and, gotta say, I am heading that way myself!
Oh, and by the way . . . it is preferable that it is a picture of you, and not some crazy icon or graphic that you think is clever.
So! Please. If you want to connect with me, and many other people, make sure you have a profile image on your Facebook profile.
And make Facebook what it is meant to be – a great tool for connecting and sharing.
